Born Atlanta, Georgia. Raised from 6-years to 18-years in Meridian, Mississippi (lots of music). Ancestral roots in North Georgia, North Alabama, East Tennessee, & New Orleans. Went to Montana and Idaho in 1974 (skipping high school grad ceremony), to visit and decided to move there. In Meridian Mississippi, played with "Reverend Boles' Bluegrass Band" and "Mother's Best". In Memphis, TN., played with "Albino Catfish Band". Applied to US Forest Service as Firefighter, and moved to inland Northwest. In Montana, played in "Spring Thaw" band. In Idaho, played in about 3-4 different band situations. Fought Forest Fires in Montana, Idaho, California, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, South Dakota, Alaska, Colorado, on Canadian border, on Mexican border, Tennessee, & Mississippi. Graduated U of Montana with Forestry Degree in "Wood Science". Worked as on-road salesman to mines and sawmills all over Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, selling high-grade drllls, taps, high tensile fasteners, and industrial hardware. Traded, bought, and sold instruments since 10 or 11 years old, starting with Danelectro guitars. Instrument trading became a serious hobby by early 1980's, finding myself looking for good instruments in my travels for my picking friends. Opened music store in 1990, with full storefront open in early 1991. Instigated world-wide small-time catalog sales. Left partnership in downtown store mid 1997, to start "House of Fine Instruments". Dropped mail-out catalog, to rely solely on internet in 1997. And now, here I am... at your service...
