Currently my Granada FE is my work horse. Past banjos I've owned: a Style 5, an RB-1 Custom, RB 75, Granada fiddle-cut H&F Custom. I started out on a Fender Artist.
Favorite Bands/Musicians:
My musical tastes are very diversified and run the gamut from Bluegrass to Classic Country to Swing & Jazz.
I prefer melodic banjo and I've always loved Bob Black's fiddle tune arrangements.

Been in music all my life from early childhood - church choir and school chorus - 8 years old to 14 years old. Graduated high school 1967. Started playing guitar and writing songs. Bought my first banjo in 1971. Later on I had several songs published and on hold with Reba McIntyre and Phil Collins. Formed a number of bands over the years from folk (Stone Free Road) to country western (Mr. Greenjeans) to rockabilly (Greenjeans again without the "Mr.") to Country rock (Walkers Reunion). Played Bluegrass all along and finally got in my first Bluegrass band in 1978 - The Schell Brothers - and then Pathfinder in 1980. In 1986 moved to Nashville to move on to a Progressive Country act (Don Juan) and returned to my Bluegrass roots in 1989 with the band, Emergency Bluegrass and played throughout the 90's. Currently performing with my band, The Dark Hollow Boys playing cover tunes and originals. Recorded several albums (3 with Pathfinder & 1 with Don Juan) and had two singles released and charted in the Top One Hundred in Billboard Magazine. In 1989 I began a career with Gibson Guitars in the banjo department and built banjos for the next twenty years. Since leaving Gibson I have opened up my own Banjo shop building my own design, "Ed Weber" model. I build the Ed Weber Deluxe which is finished in a translucent blue as well as a standard model finished with a traditional tobacco brown finish for the maple banjos and mahogany finish for those built out of mahogany. In my shop I perform repairs, setups, and restorations of vintage banjos. I also build replacement necks, install new frets, and cut the heel for pitch adjustments and lateral alignments.
