I got it this time!

Friday, January 2, 2009

I have been trying for a while to get my banjo to sound just right. I like nylon strings over metal so the first thing was to find a set I liked. I have tried to many to mention but I found the saverez light gauge nylon strings give me a tone much like Nylguts but with out the stretching and breaking. I cant use a skin head because I live buy the ocean in Nova Scotia. I found that a weather King head thats slacked off a little sounds just right. The bridge I use is a Bart Veerman untoped bridge which I would recommend to everyone. My old Slingerland now sounds great, I couldn't be happier about it. Now I just have to figure out what to do with all the other heads and strings...
