Last Friday I received a new Romero banjo that I ordered about a year ago. It has a short neck with a 19 3/4" scale. It has an 11" pot and is made of Cherry with a Chechen fingerboard. The trim is Chechen and Ebony. The tone ring is Rosewood. The hardware and inlays are aged brass and bronze. Tuned to cGCEG. It's beautiful, as are all the Romeros I've seen, and lots of fun. It's a great go anywhere banjo. My voice, such as it is, is most comfortable singing in "C" so this banjo and I get along just fine! I put a few pictures in my photo album.

I played clawhammer in college and then got married, bought a home and we had three sons. Banjo kind of got lost in all the rush. Now the kids are grown up and things are slowing down a bit. The banjo is back! I've learned more in the first year, with help from this forum, than I did in my first four years back in school. Thank you! We literally live in the woods of Maine. A hundred acre woodlot with trails for hunting, hiking and cross country skiing. We heat our home with a wood boiler and cut our own firewood. We also have a lake camp for the warm months and a little fishing. Life is good!
