Happy Saturday to everybody here at BanjoHangout!
It's about that time of year again where pies are in the oven, crunchy leaves litter the ground in an array of contrasting hues, and the family starts to gather for the holidays. I would consider myself a beginner banjo player, and though I enjoy pickin' and have been studying banjos and learning to work on them for the last 5 months, I have found myself yearning for a better way to learn banjo. I tend to travel and am on the road often, and in Florida, I find it very difficult to come across banjo instructors who reside near by. In my travels and networking, I managed to meet Wayne over at GoldTone. I voiced my frustrations about the lack of banjo instructors in my area, and this man smiled and showed me a solution to my troubles.
Wayne created an application that is ingenious. It's as if you have a personal banjo instructor in your pocket, and the possibilities and solutions are limitless. This app allows you to input any youtube video or video from your gallery of anybody playing, and "cut" a section of an instructor's or player's video to be "looped" and played over in a repeat cycle, until you master the song segment you are trying to learn. The app allows you to speed up or slow down, and "save" the looped video within the app to access and revert back to for practice at any time. It is an absolutely incredible app. The mobility, easy interface, and accessibility allows one to have essentially any instrument with any instructor at any given point in time, no matter where you are or what time it is. This app is making a world of a difference in my playing and I wanted to just give a kudos and shout out to Wayne for creating such an amazing app.
Loop2Learn is available for Iphone/Ipad/Androids phones and tablets. Please mosey on over to the youtube link I have provided above, and check out what the app is all about for yourself. It is honestly the best $1.99 investment I have ever spent, and by far the least expensive music teacher I have ever had :) All I can say is that it is perfect for those of any age, learning at any pace, and it will help you get to where you need to be at to play songs for your family or for the upcoming jams this Holiday Season.
Have a wonderful season, and happy pickin'!

Music gives emotions a voice, and I have fallen in love with banjo. I'm a deep thinker and over analyzer. I'm very much introverted. I enjoy reading, writing, learning, and spending quality time with good genuine people. I give extreme loyalty to those who prove to have a good heart and soul. I'm very excited to make friends in the banjo world, and finally find others to relate to!
