I found something really nice yesterday on YouTube by Jason Skinner. He has an 18-part lesson series on Don Reno's style of playing. I really like playing this song, "I'm Using My Bible For A Roadmap"...

I was born in Chicago in 1967. I grew up and lived there for 34 years. I moved to the island of Guam (close by the Philippines) for a job transfer in 2004 and lived there for 17 years. In 2021, I decided to move to Pensacola, which is home for now. I started playing my first musical instrument at age 15. My Dad bought me a used 6-string acoustic guitar at a pawn shop. I tried saxophone a few years later, but it wasn't for me. I started learning the banjo in my early 20's, but there was no internet back then in the early 1990's and Chicago isn't a great place for banjo enthusiasts. At age 25 I fell in love with the pedal steel guitar, which is my passion. In 2007 I decided to learn Hawaiian steel guitar on the lap steel, which is a style not a guitar. In 2017 my youngest daughter rekindled my love for the banjo, when she showed an interest in learning herself. So I bought her a banjo and discovered Dave Hum. I love that man! I sure wish I could have communicated with him. I am good at Ukulele, which nearly everyone on an island learns to play. These are all beautiful blessings from God. Music makes the world a better place! Most importantly, I am a born-again Christian. I humbly came to God as a guilty sinner at age 13, and put my faith in the GOOD NEWS (Gospel) of the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for my sins, was buried and bodily resurrected from the dead three days later. That is my ONLY hope for Heaven! I am just a sinner saved by God's grace. Thank you for reading and God bless!
