Hello,

I purchased a Maple Minstrel Wildwood Banjo, like the one in an ad that was posted couple months ago. What's pretty cool, it ended up in 'small town' Ontario, Canada (I wish i knew how it got here from the West). I was wondering if there are any ways of dating the instrument.

	Dave Godwin says: 1/2/2025 9:23:02 AM Will try to make it short but the Wildwood was the first clawhammer banjo that I ever heard. I didn't care for the bluegrass sound of picking. Just too busy for me. We lived in El Dorado Hill Ca. at the time and new neighbors invited me to something thy called a, picking party??? It was in the late 1980s and I didn't play anything and wasn't realy intrested but I went anyway. Lots of people and several groups playing in different parts of the house and it was intresting to hear them play. BUT, comming from out back there was a sound that I had neverd heard. It was wonderfull sound that become a part of my life. Over thirty years have past and I have owned and buitl several banjos and that first sound of Rick playing that Wildwood is still party of a great memory. Rick Abrams won many contest ribbons and with that Wildwood he won 1st place at Galax Oldtime Fiddler. I now have Rick's "WILDOOD" and the sound of is special.
