Hello all,
I recently purchased my first Gold Star (s/n 840112) and am really enjoying the tone and volume of this banjo. I played another 1984 Gold Star at the same time ( wreath model) but this one spoke to me.
It has what I assume is a non-original (compensated bridge) -not sure of the maker.
haven't done a thing to it other than new strings.
it's a super clean banjo though does have holes where a previous owner installed a sliding 5th string capo but when I bought it had spikes installed at 7,8,9 and 10.
glad to be a proud member of this Group.
Jerry
