Hi all,
Brand new newbie here, looking for some help. I just bought a vintage Gold Star banjo on eBay and received it today. I'm hoping for some verification that I got what I paid for. The eBay listing with pictures is still up here:

My main concerns are:
a) There's hardly a scratch on any of the wood. The resonator looks just about new. It isn't even dusty inside. How could this be on a 35 year old instrument? The metal parts are somewhat tarnished as expected.
b) The label in the rim is like those I've seen in photos on the internet (see my Flickr link above). It's a simple sticker with just numbers, no model indication, no Saga Instruments, etc.
What have I got here? Any advice?
