Just purchased a gold star G-11FE . A friend had it under his bed in case for 36 years . Paid $200 for it . SER # 800045 . Perfect shape . original strings , bridge , tailpiece and head. The head has a " looks like eagle with a straw hat " not the usual star. Never seen one like it. Plays good , sounds good . what a find. Sticker on outside of case elderly instruments $450 . i can't put it down . JOHN

In the process, I learned that many of the early ones had this hillbilly logo as opposed to the 5 Star logo. Page

	Toshi Tsuchida says: 9/6/2017 4:16:53 AM The Gold Star banjo manufacture, Tokai musical instruments imported Remo heads without logo(about 100 in one long box) . Then they stamped hillbily logo on Gold star banjos for Saga while others were stamped Remo logo including G11 and G12 for domestic(Japan) sale. I don't think GF series had this hillbily logo on them.
