Hi All,

I lead a jam that happens the fourth Thursday of every month. We meet at Bernunzio's Uptown Music store on East Ave. in Rochester, NY.

This is a jam that has been going for about two years or a little less. Other than Fourth Thursday times we meet on weekends at my house or another Beginner's Old Time Jam member's house. You can find more info on Facebook at the "Old Time Beginner's Jam" group page. We have tabs and stuff posted there.

Our usual structure is to take the first hour to learn a couple tunes by ear. I usually break the tunes up in smaller bits. We repeat the smaller bits until most we have it down and then add the next bit. We add more until we can all play the tune from start to finish. Then we play the tune through a bunch of times. After the first hour we go ahead and play tunes straight out without breaking them down.
