UK 5 members in the Midlands?

I was wondering whether there are any UK 5 members in the Midlands that would go and see one of their overseas -visiting- members performing?

I for me, would love to meet some of you and I promise you can try my Gibson RB-1 if you’d wish.
The weekend there seems to be a UK5 gathering in an entirely different part of the country, so I don’t expect to see any of you at the Saltburn Folk Festival, Friday and Saturday night. If you might come anyway, here’s the link: http://www.cuttywrenfolkclub.talktalk.net/SaltburnFF/index.htm

I'd urge any of our Midlands-based members to go and support Bruno and Elly at Bromsgrove, and our more northerly-based members to check them out at the Saltburn festival this weekend - lots of good music happening there.
Come on guys, a little support would go a long way to ensure that good musicians keep coming here to some of the smaller venues in the UK. I often read posts from UK members bemoaning the lack of 'banjo things' going on here, and yet when something is happening, there seems to be llittle or no support.
Bruno is a great player and a very nice guy - I really hope some of the UK5 members will make his trip to the UK a good, happy and memorable one, so that he'll be keen to return again :)

Thats funny I have just got back from Bromsgrove bluegrass Jam at the "Ye olde black cross" pub , I am working late tomorrow but I will drive the 20 miles to see a pro picker in action and I will take up Brunos offer of trying out the Gibson.
WARNING: do not go to the "Ye olde black cross" pub, I will tell you why on another post.
Unfortunatly I have already booked up for the Congleton pickin weekender but I will see you tomorrow Bruno

Well Debs you were right, I have just got back from and had one of the best evenings of my life, the best one being in 1978 when I met this crazy girl in the pub but thats a different story.
Bruno and Ellly are real professionals and very nice genuine people, Their music is up there with the best in the business. They have a real stage presence which captivates you until the end plus fantastic pickin and singing.
They had and played guitars , mandolins, bluegrass banjo, clawhammer banjo, dobro, they even supplied and setup their own brilliant sound and light system. I have never seen such a talented duo who are masters of all their instruments and voice it was a performance i really want to experience again. The audience were a lot 99% folk music at the venue but they really loved it and you could hear a pin drop as they were mesmerized by the performance.
Just think back to all the bands you wish you had seen and missed the chance well here is one of those. If you do not get to see them live you will regret it because acts of this class dont come along very often.
P.S, I did get to pick the Gibson RB-1 with a scorpion bridge and it was old, well used and awesome, thanks Bruno

It was so great to play all these gigs and feeling so well received.
Don't give us credit for the lights though, these were on the house as I understood.
Then Carlo, most players could only wish -in their wildest dreams- they'd had gotten as far as you have on the banjo in only 4 years...!
Nothing short of amazing, in my (and Elly's) opinion.
We have come to the end of the tour as we'll play our last set this evening in the upstairs room of the Marine Hotel, right on the sea front of Saltburn by the Sea.
Full of memories and full of plans for next time, we'll be on the ferry Monday night.
