Heartstrings UK tour (featuring RB-1 on the RB-1)

From RB-1 on 7/21/2016 5:45:46 AM

Hello all,

In less than a week’s time we’ll be crossing the North Sea again to visit the UK.

Heartstrings (Elly & me) will perform at several gigs from the NE all the way down to Worcestershire in the southern Midlands.

Check our home page http://home.hccnet.nl/e.beurskens/Skyland/heartstrings.htm , see if we’re within your range and come and say hello.

The gig list: http://home.hccnet.nl/e.beurskens/Skyland/optredens__B&E%20eng.htm

In the original schedule there were plans for a workshop, but too bad that didn’t work out.

The workshop I did two years ago, together with Chris Cooper, was well appreciated, so I tried my luck again, but this time no success.

Oh well, it surely is going to be a nice and exiting trip.

Hoping to meet many of you and by chance pick a tune or two.

Bruno

P.S., anyone bound to come to one of these gigs, please respond below.

I'll be there - I'm bringing my partner and another banjo-playing friend to the Darlington gig. We're all really looking forward to it :)

Looking forward too!
Please introduce yourself there.
I don't know exactly whether there will be any floorspots that night, but bring your banjo anyway I'd say.

Two gigs down the list already!
Darlington had a good crowd and apart from a little confusion about the channel our single mike set up was connected to (we played the first song un-amplified) the rest went very well with sound completely to our liking.
Last nights' gig at Hinkley ACT with the great Guy Rogers as MC and support (holy moley, how good this bloke has become, should be a household name in British bluegrass by now!) went like a charm too.
We finished off the night with three songs as a trio and in spite of no rehearsal time to note, it worked wonderfully.
Love to do it all over again.
It was only over there that I heard Ron Block had been playing a few miles down the road at the same time.
Too bad, this way we've had no chance to see each other's gigs....
But this must have been the reason there weren't any UK5 members where we were...
Anyway, your next chances will be Aug. 1st and 5th in the Midlands.
UK5, don't let us down, show your self and I'd let you try the RB-1 if only to find you need an old Gibson too....
See you!

Mind you, Aug. 1st is a short set gig. The 5th will be a full concert.
Then there is still the 11th at Bromsgrove and of course the Saltburn Folk festival on Aug. 12th and 13th.

Yesterday, Bollington (Peak District) was packed.
But again... No UK-5 members.
On one hand it seems to be such an active group with members all over the country, but when there's foreign banjo players in the country, the interest seems near zero. Or is it because of something else of which I have no knowledge (yet)?
