Hi, just joined and thought I'd say hello! After a long period of desire I managed to get myself an open back 5 string Banjo, and I'm very happy with it so far. Still getting used to tuning etc but would love some advice on some useful beginners rolls & chords to concentrate on? Cheers

	the Twanger says: 5/28/2014 1:20:33 AM Hi Steve, tutors are pretty thin on the ground and you will probably have to travel to find one. There is a system called the Murphy method available on this site and a group called Murphy's misfits. This is a way of playing that does not use tab but you play by ear. They do introduction books/DVD'S and downloads. I found this method works for me and you also play at your own pace and play with the tutor. Skype lessons are also available. Good luck and welcome.

It will be nice to see some progress but also to get some basic skills up to scratch?! Either way I'm playing, which is always a good thing!!
