Hi Banjo Chums, I'm in Hebden Bridge in W.Yorkshire, and clawhammer/frailing buddies are definately thin on the ground! Even those good people at Eagle Music (Huddersfield) cannot help. Upto now my learning has been Pat Costello and Mandy Tyner, with a little from Kelly Griner, (but he plays soooo fast!) I'm 65, so I fit the ol' timer tag, if only I could play. regards Paul

	Debs says: 5/8/2014 8:49:04 AM Welcome Paul! Hopefully you'll find some clawhammer buddies on here who are not too far away from you. If you think they're thin on the ground in Hebden Bridge, you should try North Yorkshire, where it seems there's only me with a banjo!!

I live down in Rainham Essex just on the London borders where you would assume that us Jo twangers would be falling over each other but not the case. Thanks to BH I've linked up with a couple of chums so you're in the right place.

It's nice to know I'm not on my own here in England's finest county!! Although I'm not a clawhammerer, let me know if you fancy a get-together sometime!

	foggers says: 5/20/2014 4:58:00 AM Hello All I am in Sheffield, and would recommend trying the Friends of American Old Time Music and Dance as there are contacts on their website which can help you locate people with a shared interest in OT music and/or banjo in particular. They usually have a N Yorks picking weekend a couple of times a year so that is worth looking out for. We have quite a lively scene in S Yorks but I realise its a long trek to get down here. We sometimes get excellent gigs with touring US stars at a pop-up event organised by Steel City Opry. I will aim to post info on these events to this group. regards Jane
