I'm eagerly awaiting delivery of a small component (value about £100, including shipping) from the USA. Does anyone know how long this normally takes? I guess imported packages are intercepted by HMRC to assess any import duty liability. How long do you think I'm likely to wait for delivery?

	tilmar says: 4/22/2014 5:26:27 AM Order various packages for work eg small industrial components, books, hand tools etc. I always give them at least 2 weeks for the cross over the pond before I start wondering where it is. I find HMRC and US customs not a prob unless it is a size of at least a standard cardboard box (removals size) it tends to be Royal Mail not delivering item to your address due to under postage US side. This pettiness seems to happen more frequently over the last few years. Martin

	Stephen John Prior says: 4/22/2014 5:42:38 AM I've found it can take up to 2 or 3 weeks though i'm not sure how much of that time is taken up by our Customs and Royal Mail processing. The pair will do all they can to make that £100 component pretty expensive. SP.

	Banjules says: 4/22/2014 2:38:17 PM I ordered a gauge from Steve Davis and it arrived in a week. I ordered some music books from another source and they took 6 weeks! There seems to be little consistency other than from my experience they do tend to turn up and at least don't get lost even if they do seem to take longer than other countries. My daughter in law ordered her wedding dress from Japan and it arrived in 8 days as stated.
