I've been playing with my guitar man Steve since the end of June reasonably regularly and it has totally rekindled my interest in playing again. Bluegrass banjo doesn't really stand alone and I reckon that is one of the biggest drawbacks to it - by yourself you feel like a motor with most of the parts missing. A few weeks ago at the monthly Morely Arms session a mandolin player turned up who was totally in synch with the bluegrass vibe and her, I and Steve made a pretty fine sound. Onwards and upwards! I need to dig out one or two tunes I USED to play in the 90s and brush them up, learn better backup, and see if we can convince the mandolin player to join the " band"
