I inadvertently took a leaf out of banjo verns book last night with a first performance.

Am staying with some friends in Kendal who know I am learning to play so insisted I bought my banjo. What I didn't know was that they go to a monthly music group where everybody sits in a big circle and takes turns to sing and play to each other so they had told everybody i was comig with a banjo and thought it would be a nice surprise. Great, cue 24 hours of pant wetting terror at the thought of doing this but it actually wasn't that bad. Everybody was very encouraging and my wife accompanied me on the fiddle so it went ok. Although apparently my timing is crap (her words, gotta love the honesty). Can't wait to get stuck In. I was just what I needed I think. Massive thanks to joemac for the lessons and encouragement.
