Well all the new guys are doing really well and I am proud of them for their work and commitment. A big thank you to you all, as a teacher nothing is more satisfying than hearing a students progress. A big well done goes to Vern Major, a truly inspired student of the banjo and it's music. I cannot believe this mans progress. It's good for older players like me to know that you students have grabbed the baton of learning to play the proper and correct way, you are the inspiration of tomorrow's beginners, keep it up guys, proud of you all.

To many beginners start out with good intentions but after a few lessons for what ever reason tend to give up on the lessons at the most important time. the hard work begins after you have had six months of learning thats when you will need tudors more than at the begining. It's very easy to think you know it all after a short time, it's also easy to make up your own simplified versions of tunes just to speed up playing them, however when you venture out and try playing them in a session of seasoned players it soon becomes obvious that short cutting is a big mistake.
