Hi all. Here is the detail of the course programme for Andy's Banjo Workshop No.5. It's all about Scruggs style this time

Andy’s Banjo Workshop No 5

Saturday 29th April 2017

Red Bull, Church Lawton, Congleton ~Road, Church Lawton, ST7 3AJ

Aim

The aim of this one-day banjo workshop is to develop a better understanding of the Scruggs Style. The course programme sets out the areas we are aiming to work on. It is not exhaustive. There may be room for additional discussion geared to individual requirements. The cost for the day, including nearly 7 hours of tuition, refreshments throughout the day and a hot lunch, is £40. Workshop Programme

10.00 – 10.30 – Welcome- tea/coffee.

10.30 - 10.50 - Setting the scene - Introduction to the course content. Discussion around individual requirements from the course.

10.50 – 11.45 - Basic Left hand and right hand technique

11.55 – 13.30 – Review of basic Scruggs rolls, progressing to more advanced Scruggs rolls and how they can be applied.

13.30 – 14.15 – LUNCH (hot food)

14.15 – 15.10 – Scruggs style back-up:

-The standard roll patterns

-Lick patterns

-Licks

15.15 – 16.00 –Vamping patterns, variations and embellishments

16.00 – 16.15 – Tea/coffee break

16.15 – 17.00 – Fill-in licks

17.00 - 18.00 - Banjo clinic
