I have recently purchased a Wildwood Paragon Banjo crafted in complete East Indian Rosewood. I know tone woods are one ingredient which gives each banjo a difference in sound quality. Anyone have comments on how this wood compares to other tone woods. I love the sound and the appearance is wonderful. Next I will need to learn to play well enough to justify my having such a unique instrument. Even so, the pure joy of holding this Banjo will suffice for the time being.

	majikgator says: 10/31/2012 1:14:27 PM Congratulations, they are very well made banjos and looks count a bit too. Even a cheap banjo played by a great player sounds good but it's nice to have something you treasure like that.
	Banjoduffer says: 10/31/2012 2:12:38 PM Thanks for the observation. I agree on the "Well Made" comment. Since I don't have a teacher and am relying on instructional videos my progress is slow even though I play quite a bit.
	majikgator says: 10/31/2012 2:24:51 PM Yes i only had a few lessons but a lot of workshops. i like DVDs but there is precious little on OT finger picking. Just emailed Paul Brown again today and hinted again about doing a book or DVD on it but he is a very busy man. Keep with it you will get there.
