Hi All - While reading about Wade Mainer's passing today, I saw that he played two-finger style. I gave up banjo several years ago due to right index finger dystonia, but am encouraged to find a whole group here that plays two-finger!

Sure would like to put the mandolin aside and learn how to do this .... saw one demo of the Alternating Thumb Roll (what I used to could do three fingered).

Are there any other rolls that are helpful?

Looking forward to seeing how you all do this!

	chip arnold says: 9/15/2011 5:37:16 PM the roll you speak of is a common thumb lead roll. have a listen to the 2-finger explanation on my music page to hear a number of finger lead rolls played and explained.
	majikgator says: 9/15/2011 7:38:42 PM The thumb lead rolls and thumb lead in general tire my thumb, i try and use my fingers more where i don't need that thumb sound, i should check your rolls Chip and see what might work in a mixed lead sort of style.
