I'm interested in it too. I found a little bit in the "Tabs and Lessons", but i didn't get much out of it. I wrote a post too, but answers remaine skimpy. Maybe you'll do better. I'm not sure how popular it is. It's difficult to even find any books on it. So now i'm just clawhammering. Which finger is deformed?

I have found a lot of stuff on you tube. Thumb lead, index lead... My preference is for thumb lead, just feels more natural to me. But I keep getting surprised by how much two finger there is on you tube. One thing leads to another to another. And with the slow down feature, I've found it really helpful. The one that really got me started on getting the concept was this one by Chris Berry: youtube.com/watch?v=GXRooshOGuc

Mojo monk has a web page called two finger banjer he is a member here and his site is a valuable tool I use it a lot, also if you can get your hands on Mike Seegers old time banjo video it is also great for beginner and all levels of players and Art Rosenbaums mountain banjo book,if you can get one for less than a small fortune is also a very good book but most of all you have to listen to the old time guys to get that sound in your head, welcome and have fun in the journey and don't be afraid to ask questions there are some around who love the style and sound of two finger RevSpyder is spot on about Chris Berry

I have a couple of tabs in the photo section of my BHO page. Also, all the tunes on my music page are in 2-finger style and there is a short audio explaining my style there, too. There are a couple of beginner lessons and more tabs on our website, as well. mountainbanjos.wordpress.com/

Think I paid 24.00 for that one but it's not really a beginner book but very good indeed

Art's first book, Old Time Mountain Banjo, is indeed a beginner's book. It was published by Oak in '68 and has a wealth of 2-finger, 3-finger and c'hammer stuff in it. The 2-finger sections cover both T lead and I lead. The second book, Art of the Old Time Banjo, is also good, but for a beginner, interested in 2-finger, the first is better. Art is still picking and painting in Athens, Ga.
