I'm looking to purchase a new maple Vintage-35. I can have the factory do the speed neck option for $100. My Deering has a satin finish neck. I have read the "speed neck" thread in the BHO forums. I'm not sold either way, yet. I don't have especially sweaty palms but I do live in Florida, plenty of humidity. What are your thoughts? -Ken

	coelhoe says: 12/28/2011 4:06:14 PM Don't do it!! Even though it costs more to have it done, I believe it lowers the value of the instrument. I've been playing for almost five decades, including a stint in south Georgia, and never felt the need for this.
	5string-banjo says: 1/1/2012 8:19:45 PM Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I like the looks of the fully finished neck What about a "wide" bridge. Anyone prefer that to a standard width bridge (on any banjo)?
	jmoliver says: 1/2/2012 12:58:17 PM I just purchased a V35 maple with the speed neck through Banjo.com and I absolutely love the feel of the neck! It was well worth the extra cost in my opinion.
