Group members, remember that if you need a hand with any plectrum banjo playin' problems at all, let me know, and I'll do the best I can to help you out. I've been playin' my ''Vega'' for close to a lifetime, and every now and again I'll stumble onto a new trick or two. All the best, don't worry - - and keep happy, Don.

A friend of mine named John Reynolds in Los Angeles is an incredible plectrum player (maybe you've heard of him?) anyways I've always loved his playing and he was recently telling me that he uses light gauged strings and light picks which is one of the reasons why he's able to play so fast and so clean. I've always used heavy strings and heavy picks because I like the tone, but I've recently switched to lighter picks, and although you do loose a little tone, it's definitely easier to play, especially tremolo-ing. Problem is I keep breaking picks! I've been using Fender medium gauge picks, but half way through a gig they break in half on me! Just wondering your thoughts on strings and picks. What do you use?
