Hello

Is my first post here. I'm a beginner with the banjo. Although I see that triad shapes seem to be under a system I'm not able to find a way for sixth chords. Do you leave the 5th out and double the third? Anyone has a group of favouritr forms for e.g. a C6 chord?

	jazzbanjo says: 6/11/2017 6:30:19 AM One of the chord tones us usually dropped when you make a 6th chord. The C chord at the 2nd fret is C G C E. You change the G to an A. The chord becomes an Am but it also functions as a C6th chord. The same thing happens for the C chord at the 5th fret. The rule for dropping chord tones is drop the root first then the 5th second. You never want to drop the 3rd since it tells the ear if the chord is major or minor.
