Hi and welcome to this newest of groups on the BHO. I've been in touch with a few Pilgrim Banjo players and they, like me, really appreciate their Pilgrim. They're definitely banjos that deserve their praises to be sung and have their own BHO group. I guess we'll be small in number to start with, but I'm sure we'll grow in time. I'm in! Proud owner since May '12. Mine is the VPB007, which I see is sometimes called the Jubilee and sometimes the Shady Grove in online ads. Anyway, it's the all-maple one with the Whyte Laydie-style tone ring and the full frets (no scoop). It's blonder than Reykjavík Airport, what with the maple and the lemon-curd colored binding. I love mine.

I am so proud that my Pilgrim Banjos have made such an impact with genuine banjo players and enthusiasts. I am told by the Vintage team at JHS that along with the Pilgrim mandolins they have never had such a reaction to a new range of folk instruments. Thanks Paul. It's great to have you on board. There are so many Pilgrims in the range that it's close to being Chaucerian :-). I almost wish I still lived in the UK so I could drop by & have a lesson or two with you. All the best to you Paul - Steve

I have been playing Melodeon for a few years and decided I would like a second instrument, by second I mean different type since I have already collected a whole squeeze of Melodeons! Eventually I decided to try Frailing Banjo and following research I bought a Pilgrim VBP007 in Oct. 2012. I have been working it all out based on what I could find out through the internet but have now been fortunate to meet Paul Tebbutt and have arranged to take lessons. The Pilgrim seems a cracking instrument (once I got over the fact that you can't squeeze it and it doesn't have any buttons!) but I have started picking out tunes and re-educating my right hand for frailing. Paul has already begun pointing me in the right direction and I feel like a kid before Christmas waiting for the first official lesson. Thanks Paul!
