For sure, kygle. They are kind of like Telecaster guitars- Teles don't respond like any other electric guitar, and their players talk about 'Telespeak'. Ode fanciers are very much the same.

You are so right stanger.
I have just uploaded some pictures of my Telecaster on my profile. They are great guitars for country picking.

Well, this is sort of fun and makes me want to tighten the strings on this 1776 about which I asked for help 'dating', and listen to what I bought those many years ago! Thank you again 'stanger' for the help - even though I continue to be puzzled about when I bought, though little counter to your good information. Anyway, then I can compare to this old Gibson! Since I want to sell both of them might as well get this ODE up and going. It'll not be set-up as was the other. but needs something done. Correct?

Have fun and I enjoy reading your comments as I do about the ['other one' and all its mates.

Oh, if you care to tread into the land of PW Mastertones and see this 'other one' I have, try going to Dave Hedrick's great YT's and look for Charlie Cushman at BT-2012, playing the '807-1'. His 'story' is another good one but to cut to the actual picking, slide over to about he 13+ minute mark and it'll kick-off such shortly thereafter.

Have fun and thanks for the comments,

Bill

Linked by 35planar 7 years ago: Looking for an ODE 5-string neck, pre-Baldwin, dowel stick or no dowel stick, long or standard, tuners or none as long as the truss rod, frets, and wood are decent with no twist. I know, seems futile.
