new baby...

From zopi on 3/18/2015 1:42:25 PM

Currently making my way home with my new to me Style C. Serial number 9-80-114 model 6505. This banjo is going to spoil me, and I expect it will be with me a looong time.

You are a lucky person - congratulations. They're a great banjo.

Thanks! I have not gotten home with her yet...had to swing through another town and hit the music store for fresh strings and a decent strap.

Congrats! Enjoy your Model C, I sure do like my '79 C.

Congrats on a beautiful banjo! I will bet that soon no other banjo tone will quite do the trick for you.

I have noticed that already. She sounds sweeet. Plays like silk too.

I finally got to mess with it last night...install micro headstock tuner and new strap...and play it. It took me awhile to sort out the Keith tuners...seems somebody had swapped holes between the black and bare set screws...once I figured that out it worked well.
Even my wife says it sounds sweet....although she asked me to back it off "11" when playing in the same room with her. Puppy is loud and jumps like a cat on a griddle...
I need to drop a set of fresh strings on. guess I will do that tonight or tomorrow.

Linked by 35planar 7 years ago: Looking for an ODE 5-string neck, pre-Baldwin, dowel stick or no dowel stick, long or standard, tuners or none as long as the truss rod, frets, and wood are decent with no twist. I know, seems futile.
