Brand new to banjo. Brand new to playing an instrument. Still don't know what the words mean yet, much less what I'm doing. I have no teacher and little time. I'll be a newbie forever.

Not so, make the time, I worked a lot of hard hours and found I ended up in the same place, now I'm making time to learn....Doc told me I was learning to relax as much as learning to play and instrument. Good luck we are all in this together.

Thanks. I'm trying. At least for me, the banjo IS my relaxation, so I'm not stressed about it. Just having fun.

The days i work i get moving earlier so i can get in atleast 1/2 hour banjo song playing in before starting my day and some evening time songs and pratice on rolls and licks . If i don't get my morning pick'in time in it's like i forgot to put my shoes on or something and long for some string scratch'in all day long . It's kinda like being addicted to something and doing yoga relaxing deal and a part of my daily life . I have one banjo on each side of T.V. set on banjo stands so they can even watch t.v with me >>Ha....ha !!!!
Ok that should cover my confession for this week .

Scott, what's your banjo's favorite show? :)
I relax with the banjo in the evening. I don't have time in the morning. I have pushed myself as early as I can go and the kids still beat me up sometimes. But, I put the kids in bed in the evening and then annoy them to sleep with my banjo time. It works out. There are nights I'm just too exhausted to touch it. Then, there are nights I play around with it for a couple hours. Mostly I do 1/2 an hour to an hour. It relaxes me and helps release the day.

Well the banjo's like the country music channel but they really get jumping around when i turn it to the bluegrass channel and is there favorite by far . They even want to play along so sometimes i let them .
