Know a Good Jam...share it here!

I'll start it off and invite anyone who is in the Rocky Mount/Wilson area to come out to the County Line Bluegrass Barn in Wilson,NC. They have a website and can be found on facebook as well, just google them. Its the longest running jam anywhere around, some 18 years local pickers have been gathering there every Tuesday night from around 7pm until whenever. As of late attendance has been slack, cold weather, tight wallets, gas prices etc has dwindled the crowd down to the die hards (like myself) The jam session goes on downstairs and there's a stage upstairs where locals come to listen. They usually keep somebody scheduled to play up there and if not a jam band is thrown together to perform for those coming to listen. If you have a group starting out and just want to get your name out there a little and get some experience playin out in public contact them I'm sure they'd be glad to have you. Admission for now is free, however donations are accepted as rent for the facilties are neither free or cheap.

This might be a good place to inquire of jams in the Piedmont Triad area -- I usually don't get too much response on the forums. I'm hoping to find some folks (more experienced than me!) to get something going in my neck of the woods -- Reidsville or close to it. My work and (primarily) home schedule doesn't really allow me much time to travel, so whatever I can find locally would be great.

Starting in Mid-May through September there will be a jam every Wednesday evening on Hatteras Island in Frisco NC at Banjo Island. We usually are packed with listeners and had some great musicians show up all summer. We play Bluegrass. Call 252 256 0148 for more info or go the Banjo Island Facebook page. Donations are accepted. Hope to see you this summer!!!
