Following Murphy's Beginning Banjo Track, I'm currently working on John Hardy. I also try and improve on the tunes already learned along with practicing chord changes. Today, I took a little break and played along with Murphy and Casey using the Slow Jam DVD. The last time I tried it, I could not get through the Cripple Creek transition to the break. Today I got the whole thing. I have a question. I understand the leaving off the last G chord of the vamp to transition to the lead. If you were transitioning from the lead to the vamp, do you just leave off the last pinch to go to the vamp? Any help is greatly appreciated. Keep picking.
