I love these old style banjo's and want to keep up with any news from members of this group. I always associate this style with Frank Proffitt whose music I enjoy.

	chip arnold says: 6/8/2013 6:14:02 AM My first mtn banjo was a fretted one built by Gordon Parris of Hayesville, N.C. I got it about 37 years ago and played it for several years. It had steel strings and wooden friction pegs which made it a somewhat of a chore to tune but I loved it all the same. It played the first music one of my daughters ever heard when I brought it into the bedroom and played for her 1/2 hour after she was born!
