What do you think of a MNB-1 as a beginner banjo?

Pat an MNB1 would be a good pick for a first banjo. I own an MGB-2 for about five years now and am satisfied with it. The quality is very nice and the prices of Morgan Monroe banjos are down to earth. Joe

The MNB-1 if I am correct has a tone hoop, a rolled brass one. This is not the same as a full brass tone ring. If you like the sound of the tone hoop, then it is a great banjo, if not, then you need to find the one you are looking for. The hoop can sound very good, just know there is a difference.

I have an mnb-1 --I love it--you need to change the bridge
to a snuffy smith---change the plastic pegs- and maybe
get the action adjusted-- and you are good to go..good
sound--also.
