June 11, 2012 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Traditional Minnesotan fiddle tunes nearly lost to future generations are given a new life with Michael Sawyer’s “Minnesota Fiddle Tunes Project” CD. Release party will be Friday, June 29, 2012 at 7:00pm sharp at In The Heart of the Beast Theater (1500 East Lake Street, Mpls), featuring local fiddlers and string bands performing old-time tunes featured on the album. Doors will open at 6:30 PM and ticket price is $10.
Performers from the CD scheduled to play: Temporary Stringband, Poor Benny, Gritpickers, Tjarnbloms, Brian Miller and Friends, Sara pajunen (kaivama), Nick Rowse (Eelpout Stringers), Dan Mackerman (Minnesota Pickers), Catie Jo and Friends, Phil Nusbaum, and more.
