Long neck cases

From Gibbo13 on 3/26/2015 9:31:01 AM

Does anyone have any info on what hardcases are available I have just bought a Jena Long neck fitted with a resonator so the standard open back version is not an option. Any help would be appreciated

The Goldtone long neck gig bag is big enough for a resonator.

Gold Tone also offers a hardshell case for a longneck w/resonator. Somewhat pricey.

I had the same question a while back, Steven. A good tip I got from group members here was to call Elderly Music. They have the ability to order custom size TKL cases for you. Less expensive than the Gold Tone.

The Guardian Featherweight cases are 6" of Styrofoam with black canvas zippered bag.

A well kept secret is that the dreadnought case fits a longneck, you need some packing, but the balance when carrying is good. You need some packing inside.

I bought a bass gig bag for my longneck, extra padding.

I have a GT800 case but not for resonator?
It may fit??
BTW - I use a gig bag, the handle is REALLY off balance...
Bass gig bag sounds like a unique idea!

I've done the same thing - got a bass gig bag for a long neck with a Bacon pot w/resonator.

For what it's worth... Back around 2002, I purchased a Goldtone Case for a resonated longneck from either Elderly or Mandolin Brothers because of a reduced price. I use padding for an un-resonated longneck. Several years ago, I purchase 2 TKL Longneck cases from Elderly. From what I can see, the Goldtone case may have been made by the same outfit as the TLK cases. The construction appears to be the same. Any info would be appreciated.
