The Deering case that came with the banjo is a tight fit, and it is impossible to place the banjo it with with a strap attached to the banjo. Does anyone have a recommendation for a strap that is easily removed and attached, so that the banjo can be transported in a standard longneck case -- or do you just use a gig bag?

	John Gribble says: 10/6/2014 3:35:43 PM My Lakota Leathers cradle strap rolls up nicely and fits in the pot. No problem getting it into the case. By the way, the case will loosen up with use.

	calypsojimmy says: 10/6/2014 5:31:12 PM I know what you mean. With longnecks, I like the idea of a cradle strap because they can heavy instruments. I use cradle straps made by a company called Webb. These Web straps I have come in two pieces: One is the "cradle" part which is threaded through the banjo brackets and remains permanently attached; the other part is the shoulder strap piece which snaps on & off ... i.e. the strap has a quick-release system that allows super-easy connection and disconnection of the two pieces. So when you pack up, you just fold a couple of short stubs of the cradle-piece under the rim, and the shoulder piece can be put up in the top of the case or in the storage box under the neck if it fits. I really like this setup. You can see some of these Webb straps at elderly.com, for one place.
	john bange says: 10/7/2014 6:21:35 AM you probably know this but I'll put it out there anyway...the Deering case has a soft padding side(hinge side) and a firm side(buckle side). banjo goes in, compacting the soft side and then down...easy when it's done like this
