Looks like a '63. Kind of surprised it hung in the store that long. Opening bid is reasonable enough.

Greetings John,

Interesting. Didn't look up the serial number. Don't know ebay well but it seems the seller is mostly a buyer on ebay. Not sure he's going to get $1999. It will be interesting to watch this. Thanks for the reference, John. I'll watch too.

Be well,

Kim

I'll watch it also but will need a sponge to sop the drool off of my keyboard.

$3450 and I think even at that price, it was a bargan

Wow. That's better than I thought it would do. These seem to have taken a hit the last few years-the demographic that buys them is not exactly growing. I expect the Excel will do ok, but I'll be surprised if it brings $4100. I'd wager it'll be relisted lower, or with a Make Offer.

$3450 was a bargain, almost half what Deering is offering for a copy.

I don't think Deering is selling a ton of those. I bought a new one in '99 for about $2100. It's for sale by it's current owner and he can't get 2K for it. I bought a very clean '61 a couple of years ago for $2450 on Ebay. It was a good listing, and no one else even bid. It's seems like the demand for these has lessened as we get father away from the time they were popular.
