12 inch rim on Long Neck

I'm looking for some opinions on putting a 12 inch rim on a long neck, with a brass tone ring. Any thoughts?

	Dan Pennington says: 3/14/2013 12:14:27 PM I made a 12 inch pot long neck. I think it balances a bit better than the 11 inchers. With a bit more bass and volume.

	wbheilmann says: 3/14/2013 1:27:37 PM Most longnecks are heavy enough as it is. Depending on its other specifications, a 12-inch pot might be even heavier. On the other hand, Dan makes a good point about balance. Longnecks also have a tendency to be a bit top-heavy, so it makes sense that a 12-inch pot might serve to improve the balance. With regard to comfort, I've found that a nice, wide, padded strap really helps with the weight. Depending on how you adjust the strap, you might also be able to compensate for the balance a little.
