I just got my Gibson 175 longneck back fully refrettted, and love it in a way I never have before. Some earlier owner leveled the frets down to nubs, then dug divets into the fingerboard with his/her nails. Had it done through a music store I patronize and I'm completely satisfied. The neck, rim, and rim hardware, all original, first class and in good shape, I have it set up the way I like, sounds great,  and it should be good for another fifty years or so. An early 76th birthday present to myself.

Oh, that's a little too much like work. My banjo is pretty much like this one: youtube.com/watch?v=a9kMFquNwXc

John, you should have some good picking now! That RB175 in the video is in remarkably good shape! Mine is scared up in numerous places. I had it refretted maybe 2 decades ago. It was my only banjo, or main picker, for a long time before that. I like it for jams and gigs because of its ease of retuning. With the capo generally on, it's quick to shift to A, B, etc. without having to tweak all the strings (as I have to do when putting a capo on or
taking one off.

Lew: That's the main reason (capo) I love my long neck as well!!
