Long Neck Banjo Gig Bag

From Claude Grassley on 8/8/2022 11:00:56 AM

I use a Gator gig bag that was designed for a regular sized resonator banjo. The extra room for the resonator gives almost enough room for my long necks to fit in it. I was short about 1/2 inch so I simply used a hammer to pound down the styrofoam a little at the headstock end of the case (being careful not to tear the felt lining). I've been using it for a couple years now and I can't imagine ever using a hard shell case again. This "bag" is semi-hard shell but light weight and I love the fact that I can carry it with the shoulder straps like a back pack. I tried to upload a picture but it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks Claude. Bags are better than messing with the case handle- unless you are traveling and need the hard case

One friend uses an electric Bass guitar gigbag for his Deering Vega longneck. Works fine, and can be had more easily and inexpensively.

Oh, the Gold Tone cases are great but the hard shell handle is really off balance. I MAY try the handle move mod here, can't wreck much I guess...
