New discussion about long necks elsewhere on Hangout

From phdm on 1/18/2022 10:43:22 AM

I came across this recent and lengthy discussion on longneck banjos elsewhere in Banjo Hangout, and thought to link the entire discussion to our group, which, sadly, seems to be rarely visited. Hope the folks on this group will check it out:

Got a Julia Belle and learning E tuning which I never did after buying my Seeger LN. Will have to get the Seeger out of the closet.

I jokingly call my Vega Seeger long neck my E and F keys banjo, though it is much more, obviously.

fwiw, I just found this group one day after your post, so thanks! This past summer I stumbled across a Bacon Folk model long neck (early 60s I think) in a music store in Tulsa, OK and I've been waiting for the time to give it a proper setup

Linked by jbakervt 2 years ago: A song about mentorship, inspired by my mentor and HIS mentors too, that takes the form of the story of a ship’s mate being “shown the ropes”. The old sea captain may also have been a long-neck player
