I picked up a Pete Seeger model Vega at an auction. It’s a 1961 with the wooden dowel and original Vega case. Serial number 100703. It’s in pretty good condition with a few dings here and there. I’d like to resell it. Before I do a classified ad or list it on eBay I’d like some feedback from the group if possible. 1) I’d like to know it’s potential value 2.) best way to connect with long neck enthusiasts. I love Pete Seeger, but I just don’t play banjo. Thanks in advance everyone!

	mainejohn says: 12/4/2019 6:24:53 AM I'm afraid I'm not going to tell you what you want to hear, but this is just my opinion based on what I've observed of the Vega longneck market over the past 15 years.The market for longnecks is not what it was a few years back, which is pretty much the case with vintage banjos in general. Yes...is more desirable than the post 1961, thin-rimmed, cheezy co-rod models, but I'd say you'd be quite fortunate to get $3000 for it, and more likely $2500. No...I'm not trying to steal it, as I have a nice vintage Vega longneck, and don't want another one. (I've owned several over the years). If you want to see what it's really worth, put it on ebay with no reserve. It will be worth exactly what the highest bidder is willing to pay for it. I hope I'm wrong, as I'd like to see yours for what you're asking.
