From tiki359 on 2/15/2018 10:06:26 PM

Just purchased a Vega Pete Seeger with the serial # A129227. Anyone know what year this is? Thanks

From the sources I have, it appears that your banjo was manufactured sometime in 1969. If I knew how to post a photo, I would have included a screenshot from one of the sources online that lists all of the serial numbers within a year’s range made by the Vega company. Yours falls within the 1969 range.

Thanks Peter. It has the standard Vega headstock, not the more pointy one with the wings below. Allen screws for the neck adjustment, round tube A phone holes and a yellow Needham Heights sticker on the inside rim.

Some time ago I stumbled across this site: thecanadasite.com/antiques/banjo.html
In the article the author lists dates and numbers of the VEGA "Pete Seeger" banjos. I could not get the list to "copy" into this post.
The author also credits “The Pete Seeger Banjo” by Pete Curry for information.
I’m sure there are more sites with information that others might know about. Thanks
