I've been a member, but mostly a lurker, till now. I recently got a '60s Christy longneck from another group blog member (thanks Paul, aka Shop the Folk--see his entry below). It's near-mint except for upgrade tuners and sounds great! (But then, as the administrator of the Gariepy group blog, I'm a fan of aluminum pots.) Paul, who used to own The Folk Shop in Tucson, AZ, has about 40 other great longnecks (including Gibsons, Epiphones, and even a Merlin), and, according to a post he put here about a year ago, would be willing to part with many of them. He's warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and great to do business with. So, if you've got longneck-fever, he might be a good first stop.

	tucsonsean says: 12/11/2017 9:26:10 PM For those who aren't aficionados, Christy is an American-made banjo built in Colorado in the 60's by, I think, a man named Art Christiansen. It's pure 60's: hi-gloss finish flamed neck, bound, with dots and modest inlay in the peghead; it has an aluminum pot, but you can't tell because it's covered in stylish (?) purplish drum cladding. The sound is close to a contemporary competitor, Ode, which, some lore suggests, is not an accident. It's a great banjo. I'll try to post some pics in the near future.
