We all have to start somewhere and I've been interested in the banjo for some time. Finally decided to take the plunge and just bought my first Banjo...a Deering Goodtime 2. While exploring various instruments, I found that I preferred left handed playing over my usually dominant right. Kinda strange, but comfortable for me. Looking forward to learning more on this group and on BHO in general. What a wealth of resources! Stay tuned as I start my journey.

	LeLimoMan says: 6/27/2012 1:38:15 PM Just a quick update for anyone who cares. I finally recieved my banjo and am sooooo happy with my purchase. Spent the whole evening playing around with it, getting it in tune and starting to go through my lesson books. I've dropped the banjo off at Sandy's Music in Cambridge, MA to get it set up properly, change the strings and bridge...at the urging of my teacher. I've located a banjo teacher (via the BHO link) and will be starting lessons in July. More to come!
sun136 says: 7/18/2012 8:12:44 AM I started picking right handed years ago, but I could never get my fingers to work properly. I finally decided to try left handed and things just clicked for me. I hope that things work out well for you also.
