Hi all,
Hopefully we'll see some activity in this group, apart from just new members :-) Let's get a few discussions going!
I have just started playing...well, technically I haven't started yet, but I have just purchased my first banjo. Whilst I was prepared for the struggle of finding a lefty banjo, in my case it worked to my advantage...
With limited choice here (Australia) anyway, I went to my local music store and although they had no lefties, I asked them to check other stores. Sure enough, one in another city. A Deering Goodtime 2 resonator model. List price here: $1,199. Just my luck, the store had just decided to discount it as it had been sitting around a little while. How much? $499! Less than half price. So I snapped it up, and they are setting it up and restring it for me, and I'll have it by the weekend. Yay!
So, just thought I'd share this tale that proves sometimes being a lefty banjo player does have advantages :-)
Hopefully banjo #2 will be one I'll build, but more on that when I get to it.
