Music Lovers (as Curley Ray used to say),
I think we all agree that Bean Blossom is our Carnegie Hall, Ryman Auditorium, and Smithsonian Institute. It has the things we love to hear and has some of the greatest bluegrass history and tradition in our music today.
In an effort to try to grow and support our favorite art form at Bean Blossom, I am trying to get a Bean Blossom festival flyer distribution system up and going. We want to try to get more people to be aware of Bean Blossom festivals so that more will attend. I am looking for people in Indiana, and in greater St. Louis, Chicago, Louisville, and Cincinnati who would be willing to take some flyers and make sure they get posted at local stores and gathering places. We are trying to post flyers for the June and September festivals. I would think if someone would take responsibility for a good size city, they could get their bluegrass friends to take some flyers and post them in different parts of the city – in their own neighborhoods.
We have a great treasure in Bean Blossom and a great art in bluegrass. I hope we don’t take either for granted. Other parts of our society support their chosen arts and I would hope we could get a goodly number of people that would choose to be good patrons of our art.
If you would be willing to help, or have any questions, please let me know and I will drop you a PM.
Thanks for your time in reading this.
Ken
