RC Cola

From Banjo Lefty on 2/4/2015 4:47:57 PM

O boy o boy o boy o boy!!!!  Went and picked up my new lefty Hatfield Special yesterday, met Arthur & Bev after an hour of driving round and round trying to find the right roads, then sat down in Arthur's shop and tried to play, but my fingers felt like they didn't belong to me and my hands were shaking with excitement.  It is soooooo beautiful, and it has this absolutely gorgeous sound -- I thought my Gold Tone has a pretty good sound, but this is in another league entirely.   And it's heavy.  Must weigh 15 pounds at least.  But I don't care.  We went back to the hotel and I took it out and played a little, and dang if I don't sound 110% better than before!!  I'll post pictures on my home page when we get home next week.

By the way, that RC Cola is terrible stuff -- no flavour at all!

That's the way it works, Banjo Lefty.

And you have just traded in the minivan for a Ferrari. If you're anything like me, that banjo is gonna scare the snot out of you for the next year or two. And you'll enjoy every minute of it.

So glad you got to see the end of Burton Ridge Road. It's one of those few places in the world where one feels that all the forces in the universe are aligned (well, except for the way we play...).

And welcome to the Hatfield Clan!

I have to echo everything that Skip said. I would be thrilled with mine if I had it shipped, but having met Arthur and Bev and having sat on the official 'Stupid Grin Stool' while picking the first few notes in Arthur's shop is something that I will always remember. Turning on to Burton Ridge Rd I got a sense that this was the perfect place to have a banjo made.

If you're as happy with your Hatfield as I am with mine I know you are in Heaven! I love my Celebrity!

Most important to keep that little dusting of Arthur's magic shop dust on the banjo. He really needs to package it!
