Just wondering what number Hatfield all you guys and gals have out there. I own a Hatfield Special with the number 23 on it. What number do you have?

	eagleisland says: 2/12/2011 5:55:38 AM 520070400-19, whatever that means. Arthur considers the Compass Rose to be a Special, which is his prerogative as its builder. From my perspective, about the only thing this banjo has in common with a Special is the fact that it's walnut, carries a Hatfield bridge and built with Arthur's wise and loving hands. Inlay patterns, rim and ring, fingerboard, neck shape, tuners and hardware livery are all custom.
	SJL says: 2/12/2011 5:31:24 PM Like Skip, I'm not sure what my Custom's serial number means, but it is 7200704000-22. I think that it means that it was the 22nd Custom that he built. It was built in 2007. I don't know why the first number in Skip's is 5 and mine is 7.

	Ottawa says: 2/13/2011 3:23:29 PM Arthur built me up a beautiful walnut Special with gold-plating, #24, and recently built me at my request his first wood tone-ringed banjo, mahogany with hoduran rosewood tonering, which is custom #42. I cannot be happier with the attention to detail and care that was obviously put into each one of these banjos. I'm not the greatest player by any stretch- and probably never will be, but am proud to have had these built with integrity. Keepers, the both of them! Thanks, Arthur! Steven.
